An exact spot on the map
The code holds geographic coordinates. When scanned, the phone offers to open the place in Google Maps, Apple Maps or another map app, and from there people start navigation. Nobody searches for the address or ends up at the wrong entrance.
How to get the coordinates
- Open Google Maps and find the place.
- Long-press (on a phone) or right-click (on a computer). The coordinates appear at the top, e.g. 40.7128, -74.0060.
- Paste them into the generator. You can also paste the whole link from the address bar and the generator extracts the coordinates.
When it beats an address
- Weddings, parties and events outside town: a venue off the road, a villa, a field.
- Parking or a service entrance that is not at the main address.
- Outdoor spots: trailheads, viewpoints, campsites.
If you want the code to open your Google business profile (with photos and reviews), use a URL QR code with your profile link instead.
