Why “free” QR codes often stop working
Many generators create a so-called dynamic code. It does not contain your link. It contains their address, which then redirects to you. That lets them switch the code off after a trial, demand a subscription or show an ad before people reach your site. You usually find out after the code is already printed on a thousand flyers.
Free codes here are static: the phone reads your link straight from the pattern. We are not in the middle, so we could not switch your code off even if we wanted to.
How to make a QR code
- Pick the type: link, Wi-Fi, contact card, payment and so on.
- Fill in the details. The code updates as you type.
- Optionally change the colors and dot style, or add your logo.
- Scan it with your phone to test it, then hit “Download PNG”.
FAQ
Is it really free?
Yes. PNG up to 4000 px, SVG, PDF and EPS are all free, with no limit on the number of codes, no sign-up and no watermark. Only codes you can edit after printing and scan statistics are paid, in Pro.
How long will my code work?
For as long as the link it points to exists. A static code does not depend on our website.
Do you store what I type?
No. The code is generated in your browser and your data (including your Wi-Fi password) is never sent to us.
Can I add a logo?
Yes. With a logo the generator automatically raises the error correction level, so the code still scans even though the logo covers part of it. Always test-scan before printing.
Can I use the codes commercially?
Yes, on menus, packaging, ads and anywhere else, with no attribution required.
Is there an app?
You can install this site as an app: in Chrome choose “Install app”, on iPhone tap Share → “Add to Home Screen”. It also works offline.
